Originally built in the 1930s as the Gay family estate, Kilohana has been carefully restored and transformed into a vibrant destination. Today, visitors can explore the historic manor house, browse locally owned shops and galleries, and enjoy the beautifully landscaped 104-acre estate.

One of the highlights of a visit is the Kilohana Plantation Railway. This leisurely train journey travels through orchards, tropical gardens and farmland while sharing the history of the estate and introducing many of the plants and animals found across the property. It's a favourite with families and offers a relaxing way to explore the plantation.

The historic manor house is home to a selection of boutique shops selling locally made gifts, artwork and Hawaiian products. Nearby you'll also find Gaylord's Restaurant, one of Kauai's best-known dining venues, serving fresh island-inspired cuisine in a beautiful courtyard setting.

Visitors can also discover Koloa Rum Company, where guided tastings showcase handcrafted Hawaiian rum made using locally sourced ingredients. It's a popular stop for those interested in learning more about one of Hawaii's best-known craft distilleries.
